Tsuki~ The Moon
The Moon is of course from where our Moon Princess Reigns. Here is some simple and not so simple information on Earth's Satellite
The Moon is, at this moment, the only celestial body, that a human has stepped upon, besides earth of course. The moon is full of many human hopes, and on July 20, 1969 those human aspirations were met when the first human, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. The moon has a 29 day cycle around our earth, we call this a month. As our satellite we see the moon as a glowing pearl in the sky that illuminates the night. (A little play on words there.) We also see its different phases, the stages of waxing and waning and the full moon and the new moon. Though the Moon may give the look of a light in the sky, it is simple rock that reflects the suns light. The sun not only brightens our day, but it helps out our nights. Not only that but from far away, the moon looks like a smooth orb, but in fact, it has many craters and rocks that roughen its surface.

In the past people created many myths about the moon. Some myths said that there was a wise man there who would give you advice. There was also a story that the moon was made of cheese. I remember hearing a story that there was a woman there that was so beautiful that her face was engraved there so that people on earth could see it. Many poets have written about the beauty of the moon. In a Midsummer Nights Dream, William Shakespeare compared the moon to ...a silver bow, new-bent in heaven... Percy Bysshe Shelly referred to the moon as ...that orbed maiden, with white fire laden, who mortals call the moon... in the poem The Clouds.

Speaking of maidens, in many countries, the moon is the sign of femininity and romance. In Adinka, (an African Language correct me if I am wrong) the sign that appears on the moon princess forehead is called Osram, or The Moon. It also represents the virtues of love and kindness from women.

The moon has sparked a flame in many peoples hearts, may it be the moonlight that cast a shadow in just the right place on your lovers face, or a goal to land on its crater filled surface. The moon is ours, we belong to it.
