Takeuchi Naoko-sama created an incredible Character when she created Tsukino Usagi, or Sailor Moon. She did not create an ordinary underdog, but created a female warrior whos mission was to protect the Earth. Though she may be clumsy, she stole all of the pther warrior's hearts. Speaking of stealing hearts, she has also acquired a boyfriend, Chiba Mamoru, a University Student who in the Stars series is supposed to go to America as an exchange student. Seiya Kou, one of the Three Lights-- a popular idol group-- wants to take over as her boyfriend, but Usagi either misunderstands his messages, or avoids them completely.

In the past, Usagi had been the Princess, and future Queen of the Moon. Many troubles had ravaged the Moon Kingdom and she was sent to the future by her mother, Queen Serenity. The Moon Princess, however, had a love, a Prince from Earth who was sent to the future also. Along with them went the other Princesses from all of the other Planets. So the Moon Princess was reborn on earth as Sailor Moon.

We meet Sailor Moon in the first Episode of Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon. We find her in her usual morning routine-- late for school. On her way, she discovers that a kitten is being molested by some young boys. She rescues the cat-- forgetting that she is late for school, and discovers that there is a crescent moon on her forehead. Later, that cat begins to speak to her as soon as she started to take a nap. Usagi was sure that it was a dream, and she didn�t pay attention to what the cat was saying. The cat introduced herself as Luna and gave Usagi a henshin pen to transform into Sailor Moon. When she began to transform, she noticed that it was not a dream. She heard a cry for help through some kind of receptor in her odangos from her friend Naru-chan. ^_^ This was to be her first fight ever, and she succeeded well with some coaching from Luna, and help from a mysterious man in a tuxedo-- Tuxedo Mask.

Later on, many other soldiers fight along with Sailor Moon. They all become best friends with each other. These friends include Mizuno Ami, or Sailor Mercury, Hino Rei or Sailor Mars, Kino Makoto or Sailor Jupiter and Aino Minako or Sailor Venus, respectively. Only Ami-chan and Mako-chan go to the same school together, but they all usually collect at Rei�s temple. Their mission is to find the Moon Princess, but, they find that Sailor Moon is the Moon Princess and all of the Senshi are Princesses of their own respective planets. Later on in the Series, more Senshi appear, but they are considerably older than Sailor Moon. Eventually, The Moon Princess on Earth aquires more powerful henshins or transformations. Her final form is eternal Sailor Moon, well known for her wings.
